About Us
Cope Construction Company will always act with the utmost integrity
to deliver total quality at the best value for our clients.
Founded in 1959, Cope has been active in targeted construction markets
including industrial, commercial, medical, institutional, educational and military building. Noteworthy projects include Port of Tacoma’s first Aluminum Storage Dome, Port of Seattle’s Pier 86 Grain Terminal, Bellevue Community College and the Seattle Center International Fountain Rehabilitation.
Cope is recognized for providing consistent service at competitive prices,
evidenced by the continuity of work on over fifty separate projects since
1978 at the University of Washington. In 1991 one of these projects, re-
roofing Hec Edmundson Pavilion, won a national award for quality.
Cope has special expertise in asset improvement where continued opera-
tion by the user must be maintained during the construction process.
Successful projects during recent years have been accomplished for active medical, education and commercial clients. “Fast track” summer projects for local school districts have demonstrated Cope’s ability to meet critical time schedules with minimum disruption to on-going operating and
maintenance programs.
Cope enjoys an excellent safety record and was one of the earliest mem-
bers of the Associated General Contractors select SAFETY TEAM. All
personnel work together toward exceeding the SAFETY TEAM goals
each year.
Cope employees are encouraged to grow with the company and every
effort is made to fill supervisory positions from current staff. Over half of
current supervisory management staff has been with the company over
ten years with several having up to twenty years service.
Cope Construction seeks and highly values personal relationships and
strategic alliances with clients and design consultants as well as with
subcontractors, vendors and labor.
